"From relaxed roadside lunches to multi-course meals, this motorcycle tour isn't just about the ride – it's a journey for your taste buds too"
So, where are we riding?
Day 1: Depart Central Barcelona for Allela
We'll kickoff the ride from the vibrant heart of Barcelona, navigating through bustling streets adorned with historic architecture and lively neighbourhoods. As we leave the urban landscape behind, the scenery gradually transforms. You'll witness the shift from crowded streets to open roads as you head northeast towards Alella and our comfortable lodgings nestled near the start of our adventure.
Day 2: Alella - Puigcerdà
Our route will initiate by traversing secondary roads and trails within the Barcelona metropolitan vicinity, gradually delving deeper into the mountains as we head northward. Upon reaching the Moià region, we'll transition to tracks winding through forests and mountains. As our trajectory advances further north, expect to encounter more demanding tracks characterized by rugged terrain and an abundance of stones, accompanied by increasingly remote and breathtaking landscapes.
Day 3: Puigcerdà - Arties
Setting off from Puigcerdà, we'll cruise on asphalt roads for approximately an hour before reaching the starting point of the off-road segments that ascend to the Spain-Andorra border. Our descent will lead us back onto asphalt roads, guiding us toward the valley of Andorra la Vella. Crossing through Andorra, we'll make our way to the Pal-Arinsal ski resort. Once back on the asphalt road in Espot, we will continue our journey towards our final destination.
Day 4: Arties - Oliana
In the morning, we'll set out starting with an exciting off-road section surrounded by stunning mountains. Our adventure will also include a visit to the captivating Saut des Pish waterfall. Afterward, we'll continue on an asphalt road , heading south as we descend towards the pre-Pyrenees mountains. Here, we'll have the chance to ride on fantastic trails offering beautiful views. In the afternoon, we will ascend and descend the mountains several times before settling into Oliana for the night. This region is home to many Dakar Rally champions.
Day 5: Oliana - Barcelona
We will approach Barcelona from its southern side. We will traverse the Bages region through its winding and fast tracks, passing through a truly spectacular off-road section amidst the forest! In the vicinity of Montserrat Mountain, we will continue to enjoy wide and speedy tracks, the kind that motorbike enthusiasts relish! We will continue heading south towards the Garraf Natural Park, where we will ride tracks from Sitges to the Buddhist Monastery of Olivella.
Day 6: Departure from Barcelona
After breakfast we'll say our goodbyes and riders will depart for home.
The final hotel is based in central location very close to Plaza de Espana. It is convenient to flag a taxi or shuttle to the airport for onward travel.

About the Trails Traverse
Curated Routes Designed by Local Riders show you the best of Catalunya by Trails
Our Iberian Scramble guided motorcycle tours all start and finish in Barcelona, Spain. The Trails Traverse covers up to 1,000 km over six days on gravel, dirt and sand trails with some asphalt/tarmac.
We kick off our rides at about 9:00am each morning and plan to return to our evening accommodation around 6:00pm each day with plenty of stops for coffee, lunch and off-the-bike experiences. You will experience a mix of terrains, from dusty hard compact forestry tracks to loose and twisty trails, leading up to mountain peaks. We have tried to create some new thematic rides for 2024 to show you new parts of the country and unique accommodation options.
If you are seeking an action packed journey that takes you off the roads and into trails of Catalunya and will test your riding styles, then this is an adventure to join. This ride does require a good level of off-roading experience and is not recommend for beginners. You will also require a suitable motorcycle that is in good working order with off-road tyres equipped. We recommend a light or medium weight dual sport, scrambler or adventure bike that is built to handle the rugged and rocky trails and can also ride on faster asphalt roads. If you bring a big bike with street tyres, you may face significant challenges on the trails.
Bikerbnb adventure tours take into account differing riding abilities – so if you have any concerns about the length of the trip, terrain or riding in a group – just drop a member of our team a message at info@bikerbnb.com and we’ll get you sorted.

The Iberian Scramble FAQ’s
No, but you will want a trustworthy bike capable and ready for rough and rugged terrain. We recommend the Royal Enfield Himalayan or something similar. It is important your bike comes with off-road tyres that are in good condition. This ride is for intermediate to advanced riders who have ridden off-road previously. This experience has been designed for riders seeking a challenge. If you want easier days, with less off-roading, please book on our Catalunya Traverse.
Yes, the support vehicle is there for extra luggage, tools and to pickup any breakdowns and some emergency fuel just in case.
Food and soft drinks for breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the ticket price. Cafe stops are not included.
We strive to balance the best interests of our riders and the financial wellbeing of our small business. The following Cancellation Policies establishes clear timeframes to help ensure we are equipped to run a high-quality event and meet obligations to our partners, vendors and accommodation providers, while balancing any unexpected circumstances that may arise. We appreciate that sometimes circumstances outside of our control can necessitate last minute changes. If you do need to cancel your spot on the Iberian Scramble or motorcycle rental, we would like to first offer you a credit of your booking fee (less the deposit and any ticket increases) toward a future reservation with us. If this is not possible, the following table outlines our official Cancellation Policy for the 2024 riding season. If you have any questions or concerns about cancelling or postponing your reservation, please make an enquiry with a member of staff by emailing us at info@bikerbnb.com.
The Trails Traverse features Bikerbnb’s unique motorcycle-friendly accommodation. During the ride we will stay in hand-picked accommodation that is secure and especially suited for motorcycle travelers. Depending on the tour, we will stay in a mix 3 & 4 star hotels. We try to price our trips fairly to accommodate different budgets. The Iberian Scramble takes a lot of consideration, planning, coordination and time! The knowledge and experience of the organisers is second to none and every detail is carefully collaborated. From unique locations, specialised kit, great food, support vehicle, insurance, content producers, chefs, and experienced staff, we offer an incredibly competitive product compared to other tour operators.
The route is designed to explore the best off-road tracks Catalunya has to offer. While some trails will be more challenging than others, the ultimate goal is to go at your own pace and enjoy the beautiful scenes along the way. You may feel you want to push out of the comfort zone, but we encourage you to ride to a level you feel safe and comfortable with. This experience has been designed for intermediate to advanced riders who feel comfortable riding on a mixture of dirt, gravel and tarmac for up to 240km per day. We recommend small adventure bikes or dual sports with either a 19 or 21 inch wheel, equipped with a tyre like the Continental TKC-80. If you bring a large adventure bike with street tyres you may find the Trails Traverse difficult.
We aim to ride up to 200-240 km per day, depending on the type trails we take. On the smaller twisty roads, we will allocate more time to enjoy the scenery! We anticipate each leg of the journey should approximate 5-6 hours of riding, with breaks in between for lunch and coffee. Evening meals are aimed to be served around 8:00pm.
Please do and shout from the roof tops! We like to post live updates from our social media pages throughout the experience, We will also create an online sharing folder so you can share your snaps with the rest of the group.
Unfortunately no, we can only offer accommodation, food and support to those who have paid in full for the tickets in advance.
The Trails Traverse is not designed for the faint hearted. If weather conditions are abysmal then we will hold tight for a prolonged pitstop, however, we are not ‘the sunshine only’ club. Weather conditions that pose safety issues to our riders will be taken into account but the bottom line is, come fully prepared and hope for the best! Unlike Scotland, weather is Spain a little more predictable, but always come prepared.
Everyone participating will be at different levels of riding ability. If you wish to go ahead or take your time, the route will be shared with you on a group chat. We will also send you the route in advance for you to study. The support vehicle is only a phone call away so don’t panic. We also use Whatsapp live sharing feature, this way everyone can see where they are on the route at anytime, as long as they have signal.
Our support vehicle will be there to help along the way. Equipped with tools and knowledge, we can assist with a roadside repair or pop the bike in the back. You can then be taken to the final destination of the day or taken to a local garage and check in somewhere, the choice is yours.
You will be responsible for paying for your own fuel and any additional refreshments along the way. If you drink, you will also need to purchase alcohol that is not provided with your meal. The rest is sorted by your Bikerbnb Adventures.
You’ll still need to purchase individual tickets to cover both of your accommodation and food costs. The tickets are sold per person, not per bike.
We have limited spaces on each scramble so we can only sell tickets for set dates. If you need to change a date, we will need to know in advance to see if we can accommodate you on a preferred date, but we cannot guarantee a spot.
